The i280 zooms through an incredibly wide range of documents at up to 81 pages per minute (162 images per minute). Scan mixed batches with virtually no presorting, and get through your toughest workloads faster. Depending on your application needs, you can select one of five output modes: color, bitonal, grayscale, simultaneous bitonal and grayscale, or simultaneous bitonal and color. And in simultaneous output mode, you can get an awesome 248 images per minute at 200 dpi. That’s high-performance productivity!

Of course, you get all the benefits of our renowned SurePath paper handling. And with 256 MB, you get all the onboard memory you’ll ever need to capture documents up to 32 inches long. Select the long document mode and you can scan documents up to 20 feet long and more (for electrocardiograms, seismographic charts and other special applications). And the special document mode allows you to auto-feed even the most irregular exception documents.

Exceptional speed, image quality, and flexibility. The fastest color scanning in its category. Scan up to 81 ppm/162 ipm in grayscale, bitonal or color and cross your finish line faster. Five output options meet essentially every application need. Select color, bitonal, grayscale, simultaneous bitonal and grayscale, or simultaneous bitonal and color. Toggle Patch lets you automatically switch back and forth between bitonal and color scanning "on-the-fly" as often as needed, simply by scanning a unique patch code. Perfect Page Scanning with iThresholding delivers clean, sharp images at full speed, dramatically reducing pre-sorting, re-scans, and post-image processing. Relative Cropping lets you scan just one area of a document, saving file space and improving OCR read rates. Electronic Color Dropout with grayscale output allows you to remove irrelevant background color without stopping to change lamps. And grayscale output provides greater compatibility with downstream imaging applications. Enhanced Adaptive Threshold Processing (ATP) improves character reproduction for thick or outlined characters, such as bar codes and Hanko stamps used in Japan. Brightness and Contrast Control allows customized color output for different applications. VRS compatibility offers more imaging options and convenience. Optional Dockable Flatbed handles exception documents and detaches for storage when not in use. Optional Document Imprinter available.
