AMS Imaging – Company and Mission Statement
Australian Microfilm Services (AMS), established in 1971 and based in South Melbourne, Victoria is an Australian owned and
managed company that also incorporates Reprographic Services (Aust.) and Melbourne Micrographics.
The proprietor, Mr Ben Tosetto, has owned or operated Microfilm Service Bureaux for more than 30 years. In that time,
he has incorporated eight other Microfilm Bureaux through acquisitions. AMS is one of the oldest Microfilm and Scanning Bureaux in
Australia.
AMS produces Microfilm according to the relevant Australian standards. At the present moment there are no Australian Standards
for scanning, so here we apply the methodology learned through our accreditation program. Naturally, we work with our clients
to ensure that their needs are met.
New staff members receive on-the-job training, learning from the broad knowledge base of practical experience held within AMS.
This training includes education on the basics of microfilm/scanning and where necessary, outside personnel are brought in to conduct training
sessions. Each staff member is responsible for the elements that comprise the work to be processed on the production order.
Processing and Image QA auditing is handled independently to maintain our strict quality control standards.
AMS has for many years handled sensitive and heritage material. Our client base is extensive and our long term working
relationships with our customers has seen us maintain a high level of growth.
Mission Statement
AMS will provide its customers with the highest standard in bureau services and imaging technologies through the process of
continuous improvement. AMS will also endeavour to be the leader in the development of new technologies and procedures in document management
through an active process of acquiring the most up to date equipment and methodologies available.
